The response was definitely very positive!
We were visited by 20 high school classes from all over Italy, 4 middle school classes, and a very special group: the children from the nursery school in the historic center of Lucca!
Furthermore, 11 classes from four high schools in Lucca and Capannori participated in the conference "The Invention of Barsanti and Matteucci – History and Ignition of the Engine Rebuilt by CMEF."
This positive reception encourages us
to continue on this path.

September 10, 2024 – Even before the start of classes, the first and second classes of the four-year STEAM high school of the Fermi-Giorgi campus in Lucca came to visit us
October 5, 2024 – The 5SA class of the ITE Carrara of Lucca came to visit the Museum
November 15, 2024 – Classes 5B and 5C of the Giorgi Professional Institute of Lucca came to visit the Museum and attend the presentation of Elio Lutri's work "The Modernist Soul of the Maestro" on Giacomo Puccini's passion for cars.
November 28, 2024 – A truly special morning for the students of Class 3G at the Carducci Middle School in Lucca: they met our heroes Barsanti and Matteucci, learned from our cartoonist Bigo how comics are created, and from engineer Francesco Crotti the importance of the project, today as it was in the days of B&M.
December 10, 2024 – Students from grades 3A and 3D at the Carlo Del Prete secondary school in Sant'Anna, Lucca (IC Pia Pera) came to visit us with their teachers. Elio Lutri illustrated the history of the internal combustion engine, from B&M to the present day.
January 21, 2025 – The 45 students from classes 5C and 5SA of the Vallisneri scientific high school in Lucca, along with their teachers, visited our Museum.
Maria Luisa Beconcini explained to them the history of the invention and the experiments that led to its realization.
Elio Lutri showed the engine models and traced the history of the internal combustion engine from Barsanti and Matteucci to the present day.
February 11, 2025 – A large group of students from class 4SA at the Vallisneri Scientific High School in Lucca visited our Museum. They were welcomed by Maria Luisa Beconcini, Elio Lutri, and Ferdinando Passalia.
March 4, 2025 – 45 students from two high schools in the province of Vercelli spent the day with us: in the morning they visited the Virgo Gravitational Wave Center in Cascina, in the afternoon they visited our museum

April 7, 2025 – 30 third-year Electronics students from the ITI Fermi-Giorgi in Lucca visited the Museum: they were guided by professors Maria Luisa Beconcini and Elio Lutri
April 15, 2025 – Classes 1°D and 1°E of the Cassini Scientific High School in Genoa came to visit the Museum: approximately 35 boys and girls who, with their teachers, followed with interest the themes proposed by Maria Luisa Beconcini and Elio Lutri
April 22, 2025 – Three third-year classes from the TUSINI vocational school in Verona, specializing in electrical engineering, mechanics, and cellar work, came to visit the Museum with their teachers.
Maria Luisa Beconcini and Elio Lutri accompanied them to discover the history of the B&M internal combustion engine.
April 24, 2025 – A special visit!!!
Seven children from the “Lo Scoiattolo” nursery school in Lucca came to visit the Museum with their nannies.
Attentive and interested like the older ones, they appreciated both the video created especially for the little ones on the history of the internal combustion engine and the models of the engines in motion.

April 28, 2025 – The final phase of the program we developed for the students of the Vallisneri Scientific High School in Lucca: Professor Ferdinando Passalia spoke to the students about Futurism, the artistic and cultural movement that undoubtedly drew inspiration from motorization.
May 24, 2025 – This morning we had a visit from class 2B of the C. Massei middle school in Mutigliano (LU): a small group of 12 children, truly attentive and curious.
Thanks to them and to the teachers who accompanied them.
June 9, 2025 – Sixty-eight students from classes 4SD, 4SE, and 4SB at the Vallisneri Scientific High School in Lucca visited, accompanied by their teachers. They were welcomed by Ferdinando Passalia and the museum staff, who showed them the engines, illustrating their operation with the help of video clips.
May 21, 2025 – At the conference "The Invention of Barsanti and Matteucci – History and Ignition of the Engine Reconstructed by CMEF" participated:
86 students from classes 3D, 3E, 4A, 4F of the Majorana scientific high school in Capannori (LU);
20 students from class 3B of the Passaglia art high school in Lucca;
58 students from classes 3ATM and 3BET of the ITI Fermi in Lucca;
54 students from classes 5B, 5C, 4B, and 4C at the Giorgi Technical Institute in Lucca.
As part of an agreement between our Foundation and the ISISS of the Lucca Plain, the PCTO program for students in their first three-year classes at the Ettore Majorana Scientific High School in Capannori took place at our Museum from June 16 to August 31, 2025.
Five students from class 4B were involved in the project, completing their training at our Museum, supervised by their teachers—Prof. Tintori, Prof. Del Roso, Prof. Bianchi—and Prof. Maria Luisa Beconcini, with the assistance of Museum staff.
Activities began on June 20th with a meeting where the training program was outlined: students would attend the Museum alongside museum staff, study the history of the invention of the internal combustion engine, study documents related to museum operations, and finally, produce a paper highlighting the salient aspects of the experience.
The experience concluded on July 14th with a meeting attended by the students, Professor Alessandra Del Roso, Professor Maria Luisa Beconcini, and museum worker Dario Andreotti, who, among others, supervised the students.
The students expressed great satisfaction with the activity and shared their impressions of their visit to the Museum with their tutors, also offering suggestions on how to improve its experience, especially for foreign-language visitors.
It was a great experience for us too, so much so that we've already started working on implementing their proposals!!!
In September we will all be able to appreciate the results!
