Starting in the 2022-23 school year, the Foundation, with the patronage of the Lucca-Massa Carrara School Office, has launched the "BRUM BRUM! Let's Start Our Engines" project for schools of all levels. The project includes activities led by expert teachers and aimed at sharing the story of the two Lucca inventors and their invention, as well as sparking young people's curiosity and interest in technical topics related to motorsports. The approach and language used are appropriate for different age groups.
In past school years, many school groups have visited the Museum, accompanied by teachers from the Foundation.
In particular, in 2025, the event took place on May 21st in Lucca, attended by eleven high school classes from the province of Lucca: after presentations by the Foundation's teachers, the Barsanti and Matteucci engine, built and commissioned by the B&M Group of the CMEF, the Florentine Vintage Motorcycle Club, was presented.
During the summer holidays, students from high schools in the Lucca area completed their FSL course at the Museum, reporting a positive experience.
For the current school year, school groups will be able to visit the “Barsanti and Matteucci” Internal Combustion Engine Museum, during theopening hours: Upon request, age-appropriate video clips will be shown to the staff. Visits to the museum are free.
Furthermore, as in previous years, upon request from teachers of all levels, guided tours led by experts or activities tailored to the interests of the school groups can be arranged.
For high school students, activities may award academic credits, with the authorization of the school principal.
