From May 24th to June 28th, a model B&M engine will be on display in the Carriage Gallery of Palazzo Medici Riccardi in Florence.
The electrically operated model reproduces the design described in the English certification n° 1072 that Barsanti and Matteucci obtained in 1854. A prototype of this engine was built at the Benini Foundries in Florence and put into operation at the Maria Antonia Station in 1856: the first functioning internal combustion engine in history.
The engine display will find space in the exhibition The sculptors of speed organized by "Belle curve" of Florence and by "Modenart", open to the public from Sunday May 24.
Thanks to Scuderia Belle Curve for inviting us!
